iFundWomen Comes to Philly
The City of Philadelphia and StartupPHL are connecting with iFundWomen to deliver more entrepreneurship opportunities to women in the city, specifically with women of color in mind, according to Philly Mag.
Women looking to launch businesses or increase funding to current business ventures are encouraged to apply here. Selected entrepreneurs will receive free coaching on generating funds through techniques such as crowd sourcing, and will also be eligible to participate in this spring's iFundWomen Philadelphia Pitch Competition.
Mayor Kenney said in a public statement, "iFundWomen Philadelphia will allow current and aspiring business owners in our area to tap a national network of funders and receive personalized coaching and resources from the platform’s staff.” Similar programs have launched in Boston, Newark, NJ, and most recently, our neighbor to the south, Baltimore.
"Philadelphia is the country’s fourth best city for women in tech according to a new study—now the city wants to do more to support its women in entrepreneurship overall." Read more at phillymag.com - Photo courtesy phillymag.com via iStock
